Who are we?

South Perth Junior Cricket Club is a Community Cricket Club and our emphasis is fun.

Junior cricket is unique. There is a path if you want to play professionally for the Scorchers. There is a different path if you want to play for fun.

We are so lucky we have this system. At South Perth Junior Cricket Club we keep score, we play to win. We work hard to improve.

But we take every player who enrols, and we measure our success by how much fun our players are having, and how many come back year after year.

Serious players who strive for excellence can enter District Cricket, and we have a couple of great local clubs.

District cricket clubs have trials to enter their squad, they only pick the best players for each team, they measure their success by how many games they win each season.

There is room for multiple approaches in cricket. and many many players play both, because in District Cricket  they may open the batting and play to win. But in Community Cricket they get to play with their friends and bowl a few overs as well as batting!

At South Perth Community Cricket Club we try to balance the skill of our teams, to make sure that everyone is having the same amount of fun. And we are required to rotate batters, bowlers and wicket keepers so everybody gets a go.

We strongly support the role of our district clubs, they are building the next generation of Perth Scorchers players.

And we love our role as a Community Club, we are building the next generation of Perth Scorcher supporters. People who will spend their lifetime loving cricket, playing in the afternoon and attending the Big Bash in the evening!

Management Committee 2024/2025 Season

Our Clubrooms

The South Perth Junior Cricket Club Committee operates 365 days a year.  There is a core group of dedicated people who enjoy providing a community service so that your children can enjoy a structured and safe sports environment.

We welcome new committee members as we all started with a view to supporting our children’s development and now we are part of one of the most successful junior cricket clubs in Australia.  In fact, The Shilbury Report into Cricket Success (March 2005), commissioned by Cricket Australia, mentions our club as a success story in developing children and cricket.

The previous committees deserve total credit for this and the current committee are committed to taking our club (yours and mine) to the next level.  Why not be part of a winning team that is going places and leading the field, come along to our meetings.

Committee meetings must be fun! We certainly believe that ours are exactly that. That's why we enjoy doing what we do!
